What holds up a Coupang listing is not the registration form but the images.
Products that arrived today have to go up today, there is no on-model shot,
and the shots you do have use a different model and background for every product.
Book a shoot and the listing waits; skip it and only cutouts go up.
Set the conditions once, complete one outfit, and from then on only swap the garment.
Even on a day when a batch of new products lands,
the model and background tone stay the same.
This post lays out that order.
The full image specs by channel are in Product image sizes and specs, and white-background cutouts in Background removal.
Two sets of conditions
Writing the conditions once and keeping them fixed,
instead of rewriting them each time, is what gives the same quality every day.
The images go to two places, so there are two sets.
| Set | Where it goes | Spec | Background |
|---|---|---|---|
| Listing | Coupang main image | 1:1 square, at least 1,000×1,000px | White background required, no shadow, full body |
| Store tone | Detail-page supporting cuts, own store | 3:4 | Same background as your studio photo |
If the same product also goes to Naver Smart Store or your own site,
run the same conditions again at the other ratio.
One generation is one image, so each ratio costs its own credits.
Listing set
White background, no shadow. Keep the background tone identical across every image in this batch.
Full body from the top of the head to the shoes.
If the product is a top, wear the hem out over the pants. If the product is a bottom, tuck the top in so the waistline shows.
The hem condition keeps the paired garment from drawing attention away from the product.
Selling a top, hide the waistline of the bottom; selling a bottom,
tuck the top in and show it.
Store-tone set — for a store that already has photographed cuts.
Same background as the attached studio photo. Keep the color and shape of the wall, floor and columns.
Clean, clear tone. Continuous with the background photo. Model face identical to the attached model photo.
Upload one studio photo as the background and the wall and floor colors carry over,
so the generated cut can sit next to existing photographed ones.
A person in the background photo is fine: only the background is used,
and that person does not appear in the result.
Results sometimes lean blue, which is why “clean, clear tone” is in the text.
Building a store background as a saved set is covered in the Scene Studio guide.
Fix the model with one photo.
In a list of thumbnails, a model that keeps changing makes the products look like they belong to different stores.
Save the model once in My Assets and pick it every time.
If you use a real person’s photo, agree the scope and period of use first.
The same-day order for Coupang listings
- Upload today’s product cutouts to Outfits in My Assets, named by product code (JPG or PNG, 1024px or larger). The code as the name makes them easy to find on the creation screen.
- Make the on-model shot with the listing-set conditions. Model fixed, background white.
- For the next product in the same top-and-bottom combination, do not start over. In Edit (the feature that changes a specified part of a finished image), upload the new top’s cutout as a reference and write “replace only the top with this photo, keep everything else”. The same applies when only a vest or a cardigan changes.
- If the detail page needs supporting cuts, put the finished cut into Expand Image (the feature that produces new framings and poses from a finished cut while keeping the same garment, person and tone), turn on the garment-and-person lock, and ask for “walking pose” or “waist-up”. Background and tone stay (Expand Image guide).
Step 3 is what speeds up listing.
Once one outfit exists, the rest is swapping garments,
so even with many products there are fewer places for the tone to drift.
Keeping the tone consistent across days
“Keep the background tone identical” only holds within one batch.
Yesterday’s white and today’s white can differ slightly,
so keep one good cut from the first day as the reference and check against it.
- White background tone matches the reference cut (one greyish thumbnail in a row stands out immediately)
- No shadow
- Full body, shoes included
- Hem handled as instructed (out for a top, tucked for a bottom)
- Print and logo of the swapped product match the original
If one image is off, fix only that one.
In Edit, upload the reference cut and write “match the background tone to the reference, keep everything else”.
Regenerating the whole set shifts the tone of the other images again.
Products that resist a white background, and policies to check
Sheer fabrics and thin straps can lose their edges against white,
so make a few extra and choose.
If the studio photo is blurry or color-cast, the store-tone result follows it.
What the main image may contain, whether AI-generated images need a label,
and how your images are used when listings are grouped into one product are set by Coupang’s seller notices and image guidelines in Coupang Wing.
Labeling rules for AI images vary by platform and are changing,
so check the current notice before listing and label if required.
Try this first
The free signup credits cover this: a standard lookbook image costs 10 credits,
so the two shots below take 20.
Make the listing set for one of today’s products,
put it next to your existing thumbnails, then swap one other top onto that outfit.
Check whether the swapped cut keeps the same tone and the same face as the first.
